Clear Your Space

Steven Serradilla started Clear Your Space after a two-year transition period resulting from the shut down of the Merrill Lynch Defined and Managed Funds unit from which he was employed as a Bond Fund Accountant. Prior to the shut down of Defined and Managed Funds, Mr. Serradilla attained the position of Assistant Vice President during his 11 year tenure at the company.

Recognition and Media:

Mr. Serradilla and a group of Mercer County Professional Organizers volunteered to complete a community service project during Get Organized Week from October 5 to October 11, 2003. The event was sponsored by the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO). The team of Professional Organizers chose to assist the YWCA Childcare Center of Princeton, NJ.

Through their efforts they completed a systematic overhaul of the Center's Resource Room. Prior to the team's involvement, the Resource Room had become a dumping ground for the excessive donations the Center received from the community. Like most not-for-profits, the Center didn't have the staff to sort and maintain these items. Their team transformed the room into a functioning space designated for specific childcare purposes. The Center's Staff could now use the room to read books and present educational videos to the children. Additionally, they could provide both music and computer instruction. The greatest fulfilled need was indexing the library's vast amount of donated books so that the teachers could easily select and return books they wanted to use for classroom instruction.
